What is Niza
Niza is a Dutch NGO principally engaged in campaigning and advocacy to bring about more equitable and sustainable approaches to natural resources in Sub-Saharan Africa, for the benefit of its people. To achieve this, we work closely with African partners to help amplify their voices. We link their needs, stories and campaigning or advocacy opportunities to public awareness, campaigning and decision-making processes in the Netherlands and beyond.
Mission and goals
Niza strives for a wealthy, just and free Africa, where Africans themselves, particularly the poor and excluded, benefit from the continent's vast economic and natural resources in an environmentally sustainable way.
Association with ActionAid
Since September 2007 Niza is associated with ActionAid International. The organizations work closely together on campaigning, national and international lobby and advocacy and on the financing of projects.
History of Niza
Niza is strongly rooted in the Anti-Apartheid and Solidarity movements for Southern Africa. For more than twenty years Niza has demonstrated concrete and tangible solidarity with oppressed and deprived people in Africa.
