A wealthy, just and free Africa, where Africans themselves, particularly the poor and excluded, benefit from the continent's vast economic and natural resources in an environmentally sustainable way.

Our mision

Support African initiatives to increase their ability to benefit from their continent's natural resources in a sustainable and equitable manner and claim their right to a life of dignity.

Our goals

• Strengthen the voices of African communities and their organisations so people in Africa have better information about natural resources, their rights and the tools at their disposal (international standards) and make use of this to strengthen their voice regarding the equitable management and use of natural resources.

• Help ensure that Africans are protected by and benefit from their governments' regulatory frameworks so that regulatory frameworks for sustainable social-economic development are applied to the area of natural resources and effective implementation of these frameworks is achieved and monitored. Where these conditions are not in place, we support efforts to access justice. 

• Advocate and raise awareness among policy and other decision-makers in the North so that the Dutch government, the European Union and international companies acknowledge that the  natural resources of Africa must generate more wealth and economic growth for the benefit of the local population, particularly the poor and excluded, and act through improved policies and practice.

• Campaign, raise awareness and engaging citizens in the North so that citizens in the Netherlands and Europe recognize that the natural resources of Africa must generate more wealth and economic growth for the benefit of the local population, particularly the poor and excluded, and respond to calls for action and through their daily consumer choices.
